Growing up in Australia, my skin always felt constantly dry, irritated and uncomfortable, and unless you are the lucky few with great genetics, then using some kind of product is inevitable.
Fast-forward to finishing uni and getting into my first real job, I would be putting in the long hours that are expected of fresh grads but then a couple of years later I felt like I had aged beyond my years and people then started commenting on how ragged I looked. Now I know you shouldn’t be putting too much emphasis on external validation, but I wanted to fix how I felt to reflect how well I was doing. It was a goal for myself, to look as good as I felt!
Now, I know we are all very busy and you don’t have too much time on your hands to be doing the research on which product to use and what will be good for your skin type, and I’m sure you’ve heard all the big labels tout their 100 different skincare products and which one is the best!
But in essence, what do you really need and why?
For starters, you need a face wash that easily cleans the gunk out of your skin that has developed from the constant exposure to the elements but leaves the natural oils intact!
This first layer of protection is the all-natural oils that develop on your skin, but sometimes we want to help it along and sometimes your body decides to make excessive oils. A gentle cleanser is the first step to refreshing your skin and making it feel less tired.
After the gentle wash, we will need to add back the lost moisture and lock it in. Now a balanced moisturiser is all that is really needed. To restore the lost moisture and to seal it into the top layers of your skin.
Simple, and in essence that’s it!
Here at Fundamentals Skincare, we decided to also add a serum just before the moisturiser in order to add a little bit more nutrition to the skin before sealing in the moisture.
You feed yourself with good stuff, why not also your skin?
With natural fruit extracts, our serum helps reduce visible lines that develop making your face look more youthful as well as adding lost nutrients back into your skin.
And as always our simple skincare routine is both time-saving and easy to understand!
